You are here : » NEW SESSION BEGINS AT GNIT WITH A GRAND ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2012 NEW SESSION BEGINS AT GNIT WITH A GRAND ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2012Commencing the new academic session, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT), Mullana welcomed the new students and parents at a grand orientation programme on Tuesday 21st August, 2012. The programme started with lighting of the sacred lamp by Dr. Sachin Chawla, Dean; Mr. S.P. Khosla, Registrar; Mr. Rajnish Kohli, Asstt. Registrar and heads of various departments – Mr. M. S. Verma (Mech.), Mr. Sunit Kumar (Appl. Sc.) & Mr. Kamaljit Singh Saini (CSE & IT). The HODs introduced managing committee members, faculty and staff of GNI to the gathering. They emphasised on the need of hard work, dedication, openness to receive suggestions, personality and overall development of students. They also provided valuable guidelines to parents for their role in raising the morale of their wards towards building their personality.Staff as well as the senior students of GNI actively managed the programme by acclimatising students to the new environment. Students were taken through a guided campus tour to make them familiar with both physical locations and workings of the environment at GNI. Senior students introduced a variety of fun-fillers, quizzes, tounge-twisters, etc. in the programme to instantly develop a sense of belongingness among freshers. Motivational videos were presented to ensure a jump-start in the passion & motivation level of the freshers. Rules and regulations of the Institute were also discussed in brief in this session. In his address, Dr. Sachin Chawla highlighted the efforts that GNI has undertaken to provide excellent placements to more than 1,200 students by conducting more than 100 campus placement drives in a very short span of time. Mr. Virender Mehta, Coordinator (Training & Placements) further elaborated on the need of students to be industry-ready in the present times and the pivotal role that GNI plays in such preparation of its students.
The orientation programme concluded with a warm interactive session between parents, students, faculty and administration.
