About the Course
Information technology (IT) is the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information Systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. To keep pace with rapidly changing technologies, the Department aims at developing students as top IT professionals and researchers. The curriculum has been meticulously designed to create awareness amongst students about the emerging market trends along with contributing to their overall development. The learners are provided theoretical learning as well as practical training with the help of projects and industrial assignments.

Career Prospects
The information technology sector continues to be one of the sunshine sectors of the Indian economy, showing rapid growth and promise. The ever-expanding IT industry offers limitless Job opportunities in India and abroad. The export component of Indian IT industry is likely to cross Rs. 8000 crores by 2020. In addition, the domestic markets are likely to bring in additional revenue of Rs. 10,000 crores during the next decade. Thanks to the success of the IT industry, India is now an established power in the world in this field.

IT Lab
With the aim to have a cutting edge and to impart world class technical education in Information Technology & other emerging areas, the department has well furnished Labs with the facilities of internet, Computer Graphics, Network Programming, Multimedia, Software Engineering etc.

The Department boasts of an ultramodern computer lab with 150 systems and twenty four hours internet facility through Leased Line. The department facilitates use of the latest information technology in institute's teaching, learning, research and administration, provides an excellent network environment and enables faculty, staff and students to use the computer and network resources effectively and efficiently.
